Have you ever heard of a kitchen that keeps growing? It’s like a real-life Jack and the Beanstalk! For the More family, having a little garden right in the middle of their kitchen island is a welcome surprise. What started as a simple spice display has blossomed into a stunning flower garden. The family had chosen our Alaska quartz due to its bold veins running through the slab, which complements the dark brown interior and grey cabinets, balancing the dark with light.

This decision was not made lightly, as the couple had initially envisioned a completely different surface for their countertops. After extensive research and countless discussions, they ultimately decided on quartz, feeling confident it was the best option for their forever kitchen—one built to stand the test of time, both in durability and style. Their keen eye for detail didn’t stop at the countertops. The kitchen island, with its stunning flower display, became a central feature that caught everyone’s attention.

Interestingly, the couple shared that the original design of their kitchen was quite different from how it ultimately turned out. They made several last-minute changes, such as swapping out the black cabinets they had originally planned for a softer grey and converting what was once intended to be a spice display on the island into the striking flowerbox it is now. They admitted that while the project didn’t go exactly according to the initial plan, these unexpected changes came as inspiration during the process, allowing them to refine and improve the vision they once had.

Like with any kitchen renovation, there were moments of rethinking and reimagining, and sometimes, the journey itself brings new ideas. In the end, the choices they made—like the switch to quartz—were ones they couldn’t be happier with.

However, even after facing some challenges with their kitchen design, the More Family is finally at ease now that it's completed. Over a cup of coffee, we had the pleasure of catching up with Siddi to discuss their design journey, including how StoneX helped them choose the stunning flowerbed display for their island.

What is your favourite bit about the worktops?

“My favourite part of the whole kitchen and also the worktops is the island and mainly this flower box, which can also be used as a spice box to store it. I just love this because I think it just brings different colours to the whole space, mainly green. And I mean, you know, throughout the year, we can change the display, and it just brings this different energy. So, I just love it the way it has been implemented by Mo’s team is amazing as well, and it has been properly installed.”

Did you find the process easy, from designing to installation, with us?

“Honestly speaking, we never went to Mo at first for the worktops, but we had a look on the website, and the images were nice and clear, and I think I could see the different pictures, and I could sort of, you know see how the light was reflecting. I think I made the right choice just because it fits within my budget, and it also sort of, you know, gave us what we wanted in terms of style, so yeah, it was quite easy. It would have helped more going into the showroom to see the actual slab, but it does not matter because we are happy with our selection.”

The More family shared that they initially had to delay much of their kitchen project due to setbacks on the designer's end. However, this allowed them to explore more options and choose the perfect material for their worktops.

Thank you for trusting us to collaborate to bring your vision to life and create a space where you can truly enjoy spending time.
