Meet Soudarsanan Ramaswami, whom we recently caught up with, discussing their recent kitchen renovation project and how it feels to have a kitchen that is completed for their quartz worktop.

When the Ramaswami family first purchased this home, it looked entirely different. The house, now over 30 years old, had worn-down walls, outdated wooden panels, and a style that didn't align with their vision. They wanted to transform the space into an open-plan layout, seamlessly blending the living and kitchen areas to create a much larger, more functional space.
Given the importance of the kitchen, selecting. The interior details came naturally. They gravitated towards a modern, bold design, and as gold is their favourite colour, it was incorporated throughout the kitchen. To keep the kitchen sleek and simple, they opted for a standout feature: a breakfast bar crafted from our stunning Calacatta Gold quartz. Their kitchen features grey cabinets with gold accents, which perfectly complements the Calacatta Gold quartz.

“We liked how light the colour was, and also, we wanted a bit of gold that matched our grey cabinets because the entire. The kitchen is a grey and gold theme. So, we wanted something to go with both and something that was more elegant, modern and had a bold pattern, so that is another reason we went for the Calacatta Gold.”
“Through Instagram. We looked at a few first online and were looking for something local, we found Mo’s StoneX through Instagram and loved what was on the page. We then popped into the warehouse in High Wycombe, and we met with Omar. It was fabulous he actually walked us through different options. We then found the Calacatta Gold, which we kind of focused on, and we really liked it. And then, we went to Watford, to the design
studio and met with Mo. Again, he walked us through some of the differences and right there, we still loved this one.”
Soudarsanan also shared some wisdom with us, hopefully, to help others with their future kitchen renovations, which is explained to us through the video. To summarise the points:
