Quartz is one of the most popular materials for kitchen and bathroom work surfaces and is a great alternative to natural stone worktops like granite and marble. Quartz is often called ‘engineered’ stone because it is processed in a factory.

Unlike granite which is mined whole from stone quarries, natural quartz is ground up and mixed with resin to form large quartz slabs. Most quality quartz worktops are made from 90 - 95% natural quartz minerals and 5 -10% resin and pigments. The mixture is then compressed and heated up to produce large, incredibly strong, durable, solid slabs.

Quartz worktops come in a huge variety of colours and patterns because of the different pigments that are added to the mixture. At Mo’s StoneX, we stock a massive range of beautiful quartz colours, from popular sparkly colours to subtle greys and whites. We have many of London's most in-demand quartz brands, including Caesarstone, Silestone, Cimstone, and Quartzforms. Mo’s StoneX also produces its own range of Quartz colours, including marble-inspired Carraras and Calacttas.

Our range of customisable finishes and styles makes it easy to create the perfect custom quartz worktop to transform your kitchen or bathroom in London!

Quartz Worktops in London

Quartz work surfaces have become so popular because of their strength and durability. They’re also heat-resistant and scratch-resistant, so they stand up well to the everyday wear and tear of high-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Knives and sharp utensils won’t damage your quartz countertops like they would a cheaper laminate worktop - although it’s not advised to put this to the test!

It’s harder to damage quartz countertops than natural stone work surfaces because of the resin in the mixture. The resin makes quartz work surfaces flexible, making them less likely to chip or crack than solid stone worktops. This is why quartz is so popular for high-traffic rooms like kitchens and bathrooms.

Quartz is also completely non-porous and stain resistant. So, it doesn’t matter if you spill coffee over your new quartz worktop, as the liquid will just run right off! They’re also bacteria-resistant, so they’re a hygienic option for kitchen work surfaces. Quartz worktops are easy to clean. All they need is mild soap, water and a soft cloth to keep them in pristine condition.
