StoneX Quartz Care & Maintenance

Accidental spills while cooking? Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with our comprehensive care guide.

Routine Cleaning

Use a soft cloth or sponge dampened with warm, soapy water to clean your quartz worktop. Gently wipe the surface, rinse with clean water, and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

You can also use a mild all-purpose cleaner specifically designed for daily cleaning of quartz surfaces. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the surface.

Handling Dried Spillages and Limescale

Certain items harden as they dry, making them more difficult to remove from your work surface. Use Bar Keepers Friend cream cleaner with a non-abrasive, non-metallic, white cleaning sponge for stubborn stains. Avoid using scouring pads that may scratch or dull the surface.

Rinse thoroughly with water to remove any residue and dry immediately with paper or cloth towels. Buff in smooth circular motions with a lint-free microfibre cloth for best results.

Avoiding Oils, Chemicals, Dyes, and Solvents

Avoid using stripping agents, grease removers, caustic soda, or products with a pH value above 10 on our Quartz. Solvents containing methylene chloride, dichloromethane, or chloromethane can also cause permanent damage. Oils, chemicals, dyes, and solvents pose a risk as well. If you spill any of these substances on your work surface, blot them up immediately and rinse thoroughly with water to remove any residue.
Dry the area with paper or cloth towels, and for best results, buff in smooth circular motions with a lint-free microfibre cloth. Common food items can contain oils and dyes capable of staining, so be sure to clean up any spills immediately following the instructions above to keep your work surface looking its best.

Protecting Against Hot Objects

While your work surface is heat resistant, it is not heatproof. To avoid thermal impact damage, do not place heated items directly onto the worktop. Always use heat trivets when placing hot pans or similar items on the surface.

Handling Heavy and Sharp Objects

Avoid standing, sitting, or placing heavy objects on the surface, and be careful not to drop or knock objects that could impact the surface or edges of your worktop. Never cut directly on the surface; always use our StoneX quartz chopping board when preparing food.

Care Kit

For day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of your worktop, it is recommended to use the StoneX care kit. A courtesy care kit is provided upon installation, and additional StoneX care kits can be ordered from our website.
