SINTERRA redefines surface design through advanced engineering, exceptional durability, and limitless versatility. Sintered stone worktops are created to perform beyond expectations, bringing innovation to every space.

What is
Sintered Stone?

Sintered stone is a next-generation surface material produced by compressing and firing natural minerals under extreme heat and pressure. This advanced manufacturing process creates a surface that is exceptionally strong, non-porous, and highly resistant to scratches, stains, heat, and UV exposure.

resistant

Sintered stone is highly resistant to UV rays, making it an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor applications. Unlike some materials that can fade or discolour over time, its surface maintains its original colour and appearance even after prolonged sun exposure. This ensures lasting beauty in outdoor kitchens, patios, and sunlit interiors. Its UV stability helps preserve the stone’s premium finish for years to come.

Abrasion-resistant SINTERRA sintered stone surface

Abrasion Resistant

Designed to withstand everyday wear, sintered stone offers exceptional resistance to abrasion. The dense, compact surface can handle frequent use without showing signs of deterioration or surface damage. Whether used in busy kitchens, commercial environments, or high-traffic areas, it retains its smooth and refined appearance. This durability helps keep surfaces looking newer for longer with minimal maintenance.
Scratch-resistant SINTERRA sintered stone surface

Scratch &
Impact Resistant

Sintered stone is engineered to resist scratches from daily activities, making it a practical choice for demanding environments. Its hard-wearing surface can withstand contact with common household items without compromising its appearance. This makes it ideal for kitchen worktops, islands, and preparation areas where durability is essential. The result is a surface that continues to look polished and well-maintained over time.
Non-porous and stain-resistant SINTERRA sintered stone surface

Water &
Stain Resistant

Thanks to its non-porous structure, sintered stone does not absorb liquids, preventing stains from penetrating the surface. Everyday spills such as coffee, wine, oils, and sauces can be easily wiped away without leaving lasting marks. The non-absorbent nature of the material also supports a more hygienic environment by limiting the growth of bacteria and mould. This makes it an excellent option for kitchens, bathrooms, and other frequently used spaces.
Heat and fire-resistant SINTERRA sintered stone surface

Heat &
Fire Resistant

Manufactured using advanced sintering technology, sintered stone is highly resistant to heat and fire. It can tolerate high temperatures without warping, cracking, or sustaining damage, making it well-suited for kitchen environments. Hot cookware can be placed on the surface with confidence, although the use of trivets is always recommended for best practice. Its fire-resistant properties provide added peace of mind while maintaining its structural integrity and appearance.

SINTERRA GUIDE

Everything you need to know

Sintered stone is a next-generation surface that combines natural beauty with exceptional performance.

They’re closely related, and the two terms are often used interchangeably. Both are made by sintering natural minerals under extreme heat and pressure, porcelain is essentially one form of sintered surface. In practice they perform the same way: ultra-dense, non-porous, and highly resistant to heat, scratches and UV, indoors or out. So whether it’s described as a porcelain worktop or a sintered stone worktop, you’re getting the same hard-wearing, low-maintenance surface.

The difference comes down to what’s inside and how it’s made. Quartz worktops are crushed quartz bound together with resin, whereas sintered stone is made purely from natural minerals fused under heat and pressure, with no resin. That’s why sintered stone handles heat far better and why it’s UV-stable enough for outdoor kitchens, where quartz is best kept indoors. Both are non-porous, stain-resistant and never need sealing, so the choice usually comes down to where and how you’ll use the surface.

Yes. Every sintered stone surface we supply and install is backed by our lifetime warranty on material performance for residential use, alongside a 5-year workmanship guarantee covering our templating, fabrication and fitting. Lasting confidence in both the surface and the installation.
