Calacatta Monet Marble · Design inspiration

FORMED BY NATURE

A surface that
is yours alone.

Marble brings depth, movement and individuality to a kitchen. No two slabs are identical, so the veining becomes part of your home’s own story.

Explore a statement island, a matching splashback or a beautifully finished worktop. We help you consider the slab, layout and edge details together.

FROM COLOUR TO CUTTING PLAN

Choosing your
marble worktop.

A colour name is the starting point. The actual slab, its finish and the position of each cut shape the final result.

01 / COLOUR

Build your shortlist.

For pale tones, compare Calacatta Monet, Caldia and Retro. Look at Arabescato Gold for warmer veining, Rosa Pink for blush tones and Rosso Levanto for a deep burgundy statement. Compare a sample alongside your cabinetry in your own lighting.

02 / SLAB

Look beyond a sample.

A small sample cannot show the full pattern. Ask to see the available slab, including its colour variation and natural features. Website images illustrate the character of the stone; individual slabs will differ.

03 / LAYOUT

Plan the important details.

Discuss vein direction, proposed joints and how the island relates to the splashback. Sink and hob positions affect the cutting layout. A continuous pattern or a joint-free island depends on slab dimensions and the design.

THE ESSENTIALS

Marble worktops,
explained.

Natural marble is quarried, cut into slabs and finished either honed (a soft, matt surface) or polished (a reflective surface that deepens the colour). Every slab is different. View your selected slab and discuss the cutting layout with our team to understand how its veining will appear across your worktop.

The six marbles in our Terra collection are supplied in 20mm thickness. Explore the finishes below, then discuss slab selection, templating, fabrication and installation with our team.

Honed or polished?

A honed finish can make light surface marks less conspicuous and suits a calmer, softer look. Polished marble brings out the depth of the colour and veining but shows etching more readily. Four of our six marbles are honed; Calacatta Retro and Rosso Levanto are polished.

What decides the price of a marble worktop?

The material price per square metre is the starting point. The final quotation also reflects how many slabs your layout needs, sink and hob cut-outs, edge profiles, upstands or splashbacks, templating, delivery and installation. Two kitchens of the same area can use very different amounts of slab.

Marble, granite or quartzite?

All three are natural stone. Granite and quartzite generally offer greater resistance to scratching and acid etching than marble; suitability and care still depend on the individual stone. Marble is chosen for its colour and movement, with the understanding that it needs more care. Explore our granite worktops and the wider Terra natural stone collection.

Marble kitchen islands and splashbacks

A marble island gives the stone’s pattern room to stand out. A matching marble splashback can create a coordinated look. Vein continuity depends on the selected slabs and cutting layout. Discuss overhangs, support and joint positions with our team when planning your island.

Prefer the marble look with less upkeep?

Our ELORĀ engineered stone range includes marble-look designs with a more forgiving surface for everyday use. Explore ELORĀ marble-look surfaces.

UNDERSTAND YOUR QUOTATION

From material price
to fitted worktop.

The listed £/SQM price covers the marble material only, including VAT. It is not the fitted price of a kitchen.

Finished worktop area and the amount of slab required are not always the same. Cutting waste, vein direction and the size of individual pieces can affect slab usage.

What to send us

  • Your preferred marble colour and a kitchen plan or approximate dimensions.
  • Island, splashback and upstand dimensions, if required.
  • Sink and hob details, plus any tap holes or draining grooves.
  • Your postcode, access details and preferred project timing.

What to check in your quote

Check the material allowance, edge treatment, cut-outs and any additional pieces. Templating, fabrication, delivery and installation are quoted separately. Ask for an itemised total for the agreed scope.

Approximate dimensions help start the discussion; final fabrication dimensions need to be established through templating. Confirm availability and the installation schedule with our team before arranging other trades.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Living with
natural marble.

Marble develops character with use. Understanding the difference between a stain and an etch helps you decide whether it suits your kitchen.

Marble can be a beautiful choice for a kitchen if you are comfortable with its care requirements and the character it develops over time. It can scratch, stain and etch, so discuss your daily use with our team before choosing your slab.

The six colours listed here range from £227/SQM to £353/SQM, including VAT. These are material-only prices. Templating, fabrication, delivery and installation are quoted separately. Request an itemised quote for your own kitchen.

Wipe spills promptly and use a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for natural stone. Use chopping boards and trivets, and follow your stone specialist’s sealing advice. Acidic substances can etch marble; sealing does not make it acid-proof or stain-proof.

All six products in this collection are natural marble from the Terra collection. They are separate from our ELORĀ engineered stone and Sinterra sintered stone collections. Each natural slab has its own colour variation and veining. If you like the marble look but want a lower-maintenance surface, see ELORĀ marble-look designs.

Comparing Calacatta Monet? Calacatta Monet Marble is natural marble; ELORĀ Calacatta Monet is an engineered stone surface with a marble-inspired design.

A stain is discolouration caused by a substance entering the stone. Etching is a change to the surface caused by contact with an acid, such as lemon juice or vinegar, and may appear as a dull mark. They need different treatment: ask a stone specialist before trying to remove a mark.

Use trivets beneath hot cookware and a chopping board for food preparation. These simple habits help protect the finish from heat, scratches and accidental spills.

Contact us before travelling to confirm where your shortlisted marble is available to view. Tell us your postcode and project timing so we can discuss service availability and the schedule for templating, fabrication and installation.

Contact our team to check which marble slabs are available to view and arrange your visit. A full slab helps you appreciate the movement and variation that a small sample cannot show.

We can help you explore a coordinated worktop, island and splashback design. Layout, slab availability, dimensions and support requirements will determine what is possible for your project.

CHOOSE FOR THE WAY YOU LIVE

Natural marble
or a marble look?

Decide how much natural variation and ongoing care you want. These are different materials, even when their colour names sound similar.

Natural marble

Quarried stone with individual veining and colour variation. These six Terra marbles are available in 20mm with the finishes listed above.

Choose it for its natural character and be comfortable with surface changes over time. Follow stone-specific sealing advice; sealing does not prevent acid etching.

Traditional quartz

An engineered surface made with quartz and binders, with manufactured colours and patterns. Composition and care requirements vary by product.

Compare the exact product specification and maintenance guidance when considering a marble-inspired design.

ELORĀ engineered stone

A separate engineered stone range with marble-inspired designs, offering an alternative to the natural stone collection for kitchens where easier day-to-day care matters.

ELORĀ is non-porous and requires no sealing. Follow its care guidance and use trivets for hot cookware.

Natural marble, quartz and ELORĀ are different materials with different care requirements. Check the specification of each product before choosing.
