Built Around Balance with Adelle Tracey

As a professional middle-distance runner, Adelle Tracey spends much of her life in motion. Training schedules, competition, travel, and recovery all demand focus and discipline. When it came to her home renovation, she wanted the opposite from her kitchen. The goal was to create a space that felt calm, welcoming, and beautifully considered, somewhere she could slow down and enjoy time away from the demands of her profession.

To bring that vision to life, Adelle chose Calacatta Gold Superior engineered stone from About Stones' ELORĀ collection. The material introduces elegance through soft veining and subtle movement, creating visual interest without dominating the room. Its bright surface helps maximise the natural light within the space, contributing to the open atmosphere she wanted to achieve.

At the centre of the kitchen sits a generous island that immediately draws the eye. Fabricated by the Mo's StoneX team, it features a beautifully crafted Ogee edge profile that introduces depth and character to the stone. The profile adds a more traditional and bespoke feel, giving the island a sense of permanence while showcasing the craftsmanship involved in its creation.

The attention to detail continues beyond the main work surfaces. A floating shelf, supported by elegant brass brackets, introduces another layer of warmth and personality to the space. Positioned against the stone backdrop, it provides a place for styling and display while contributing to the overall composition of the kitchen.

What makes this project particularly rewarding is how closely the finished result reflects Adelle's original vision. The kitchen feels bright without being stark, sophisticated without feeling formal, and luxurious without becoming excessive. When the installation was complete, Adelle described the finished kitchen as being beyond anything she had imagined. She could not have been happier with the result, calling it absolutely beautiful and beyond anything she had dreamed of.
