At the heart of its design is ELORĀ Calacatta Verde engineered stone, the newest addition to the ELORĀ Calacatta collection. With its bright white background and distinctive sage, olive and grey veining, Calacatta Verde brings a fresh perspective to the classic marble-inspired look, fitting right into Florence’s wonderfully colourful home.
What makes this kitchen particularly interesting is Florence’s playful approach to combining different shades and textures of green. The glossy, zellige-style tiles surrounding the cooker introduce a rich, earthy tone, while the deep green cabinetry provides a beautiful contrast against the white stone. Rather than competing with one another, the different greens create a layered, inviting space full of personality. The Calacatta Verde worktops tie these elements together, with diagonal veining that echoes the colours throughout the room. Warm oak flooring, brass handles and open shelving add just the right amount of warmth, while fresh flowers and quirky ceramics give the kitchen its cheerful finishing touches.
Beyond its beautiful colour palette, this kitchen features some lovely bespoke stonework. Calacatta Verde runs across the worktops and island, with 450mm-high wall cladding along the surrounding walls, creating a continuous marble-inspired finish. The worktops feature a half-bullnose edge profile, giving them a softly rounded finish that feels perfectly suited to Florence’s kitchen. Unlike surfaces where the pattern is limited to the top layer, ELORĀ engineered stone is full-bodied, meaning its colour and veining continue through the thickness of the slab. This makes the half-bullnose profile particularly beautiful, allowing the pattern to remain visible as the stone curves around the edge. Paired with the traditional Belfast sink, the rounded detailing brings a lovely balance between classic kitchen features and more contemporary materials.
