Some homes impress at first glance. Others reveal their value over time. The Comello Project does both, immediately striking in scale, yet layered with detail that continues to unfold the longer you spend within it. For the Mo's StoneX team, this was more than a kitchen installation. It was an opportunity to deliver a stone-led vision across an entire home, bringing together multiple materials, multiple rooms, and countless bespoke details into one cohesive design.
At the heart of the project lies an expansive kitchen featuring the Palermo engineered stone from the ELORĀ collection, sourced through our sister company, About Stones. The space is grand in every sense, anchored by a substantial central island that feels almost monolithic in scale. Above it, sculptural glass pendants soften the geometry of the room, while the cabinetry provides a clean architectural framework around which the stonework could take centre stage.
The cooking area forms a focal point of its own, featuring a traditional range setup with twin gas ovens concealed beneath distinctive circular lids, complemented by a modern induction surface. Palermo rises behind and around the cooking zone in full-height application, creating a dramatic backdrop that reinforces the importance of this central feature within the overall design.
What truly sets this kitchen apart is the extent to which the stone has been integrated. The engineered stone flows uninterrupted across the worktops and continues into full-height splashbacks that wrap the entire perimeter. Within the cabinetry, illuminated recessed niches have been lined in the same material, requiring careful fabrication and installation to maintain consistency throughout. These details create a continuous visual plane that strengthens the linear design and allows the eye to travel seamlessly through the space.
The same material language continues into the dressing room, where the stone takes on a more refined expression. At the centre sits a bespoke stone island, fabricated and installed by Mo's StoneX, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with glazed panels and warm internal lighting. The result feels closer to a luxury boutique than a conventional dressing area, demonstrating how stone can be used beyond the kitchen to elevate an entire home.
In the bathrooms, each space develops its own distinct identity while remaining connected through the thoughtful use of stone.
In the darker, more atmospheric bathroom, the Palermo is used within the vanity area to striking effect. Set against a dramatic hand-painted mural depicting golden koi carp gliding through water and framed by delicate lily leaves, the stone introduces balance and contrast. Its light base and rich brown veining bridge the richness of the walls and the depth of the flooring below. The result is immersive, layered, and carefully composed.
Elsewhere, ELORĀ's Calacatta Gold Superior introduces a lighter and more classical aesthetic. Used across the vanity and extended into a floating shelf below, the material brings warmth and refinement while maintaining visual lightness. Every detail has been carefully fabricated and installed to ensure the stone feels fully integrated within the design.
A further application of the Calacatta Gold Superior appears within the laundry room. While often overlooked in many homes, this space was treated with the same level of care as the principal rooms. Full stone coverage creates a clean and uninterrupted backdrop, proving that functional spaces can be every bit as considered as the more prominent areas of the home.
Perhaps the most dramatic departure comes in the deep green bar room, where a black grand piano takes centre stage, immediately commanding attention within the space. Surrounding it, the Calacatta Oro, another engineered stone from the ELORĀ collection is introduced as a counterbalance, its light, expressive surface cutting through the depth of the room and giving the composition room to breathe. The stone rises across the feature wall and continues behind glass cabinetry, becoming a luminous surface when paired with integrated lighting that highlights its veining and depth. Glass shelving appears to float within the composition, allowing the stone to remain fully visible while adding another layer of refinement.
Projects of this scale demand more than material selection alone. They require meticulous planning, precise fabrication, and flawless installation. From the kitchen and dressing room to the bathrooms, bar area, and utility spaces, every stone element was crafted and installed by the Mo's StoneX team to ensure consistency across the entire home.
The Comello Project is defined by its scale, but more importantly by its execution. Stone is not used as an accent here. It forms part of the architecture itself, shaping how each room is experienced. The result is a home that feels complete, confident, and unapologetically luxurious, a showcase of what can be achieved when exceptional materials are matched with expert craftsmanship.
